Craft Fair at Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden!
This Saturday April 4th is the first day of the year that the Bohemian Beer Hall in Astoria will open their outdoor area! And what would make a more perfect Saturday than a cold beer, some delicious goulash, and an awesome craft fair! I’ll be selling my wares with other local artists from 1 to 4:00 inside the Beer Hall. Come check it out!

A mention in Time Out New York!! Hooray!
Pictures of my work are featured in this week’s Time Out New York Magazine, and on their website! Yay! Here’s the text from the online article:
For the DIYers who never leave Williamsburg
There’s more to the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden than booze this opening weekend. Splurge on indie goods at its inaugural Spring Flea Market (29-19 24th Ave at 29th St, Astoria, Queens; 718-274-4925; 1–4pm, free), benefiting DA Sokol, a space that offers low-cost gymnastics to Queens kids. Organizer Jessica Bardy has assembled a diverse collection of artists for it, including Anne Messley, who makes stuff out of felt, and jewelry designer Felicity Stiverson (work pictured).
My Vintage Beaded Nile Necklace is featured in the print magazine, and my Marseille Necklace is featured online!

The Brooklyn Flea – Dumbo Edition!
This Saturday, March 14, I’ll be selling with fellow {New New} York Etsy Street Team members at the Brooklyn Flea in Dumbo. It’ll be my third time selling there in the past month or so, and if you’re in the neighborhood, you should stop by and check out all the cool antique sellers and other handmade vendors – and especially the awesome food vendors, like the famous Papusa guy! And I’ve heard a rumor that the equally famous Red Hood Taco Guys will be there this weekend!! Tacos, papusas, and cool handmade stuff – sounds like a good Saturday to me!
Rub a dub dub
I started using handmade soap a few months ago, and now that I’ve started using it I’m totally obsessed. I just hit 100 sales on Etsy today (someone bought 5 necklace from me last night – woot woot!) and I’m tempted to reward myself with some delectable handmade soap from some awesome Etsy sellers. Specifically, I’ve been eying soaps that look and sound edible – Coconut Mochi? Fig and Black Pepper? Delicious!! Here are some soaps that I’m dying to try:
The NewNew has a NewNew website! :)
The NewNew York Etsy street team, of which I am a proud member, has proudly unveiled their new website today! There are awesome how-to posts, info on upcoming events, and a link to the ever-popular NewNew blog! Ch-ch-check it out:
Sitting on the beach with a margarita . . .
Doesn’t that sound great? Yeah, too bad I’m sitting in a snowy, slushy, frozen Manhattan, with nary a margarita in site. I have been channeling my dreams of beach vacations into my jewelry designs, however – hence, my Marseille necklace. Imagine sitting on a sea wall, sipping a glass of Cotes du Rhones, and gazing at the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean. Now that’s a vacation!
Workin workin workin’ . . .
Been busy adding lots of new items to my Etsy site, and I just got some more amazing vintage beads that I’ve been madly crafting into new creations! Here’s the latest addition to my shop:
Finally recovered!
It’s taken a few days to recover from the wonderful madness that was the Holiday Handmade Cavalcade this past Saturday! The {New} New York Etsy Street Team can throw quite an event, as evidenced by the massive crowds and amazingly festive atmosphere at the Knitting Factory!! I sold waayyyy more than I have at any other fair, and I think that the event was a huge success for all! Now my only problem is trying to replace all of the merchandise that I sold, and updating my Etsy store with new items during the last few days of the Christmas shopping season! A good problem to have, I must say
Some pics from the event:

During the last few moments of set-up before the crowds descended!

Part of my display - slightly decimated at the end of the day!

The goody bags, which I helped stuff - they were amazing, and boy, did they go fast!
Only two more days til the Holiday Handmade Cavalcade . . .
Woo hoo!!!! It’s been a frenzy of activity here, what with getting ready for the Cavalcade this Saturday and spending most of last night stuffing the super-massive goody bags that 200 lucky early RSVP-ers will be getting. We also put together the five raffle bags, and let me tell you, I would seriously consider making extra purchases at the Cavalcade this weekend just to get more chances to win these insane prizes – the bags are stuffed with such beautiful products: full-sized soap, sterling silver jewelry, candles, beautiful notecards, beaded necklaces, and so much more. So come and check it out this weekend at the Knitting Factory!
On a different note, while I was in the suburbs this past week, I made a pilgrimage to one of my favorite spots, the Super Taget, and came across a snack that has truly blown my mind: the Archer Farms brand Dill Pickle Cashews. Seriously, pickle flavored nuts? Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? I’m gonna try to get some pics of these beauties and put them up here so you can appreciate them in all their glory.
