This Saturday April 4th is the first day of the year that the Bohemian Beer Hall in Astoria will open their outdoor area! And what would make a more perfect Saturday than a cold beer, some delicious goulash, and an awesome craft fair! I’ll be selling my wares with other local artists from 1 to 4:00 inside the Beer Hall. A mention in Time Out New York!! Hooray!

April 1, 2009 at 5:11 pm (Etsy, jewelry, products) (, , , , , )

Pictures of my work are featured in this week’s Time Out New York Magazine, and on their website! Yay! Here’s the text from the online article:

For the DIYers who never leave Williamsburg
There’s more to the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden than booze this opening weekend. Splurge on indie goods at its inaugural Spring Flea Market (29-19 24th Ave at 29th St, Astoria, Queens; 718-274-4925; 1–4pm, free), benefiting DA Sokol, a space that offers low-cost gymnastics to Queens kids. Organizer Jessica Bardy has assembled a diverse collection of artists for it, including Anne Messley, who makes stuff out of felt, and jewelry designer Felicity Stiverson (work pictured).

My Vintage Beaded Nile Necklace is featured in the print magazine, and my Marseille Necklace is featured online!

Getting into the swing of things . . .

February 5, 2009 at 9:15 pm (Etsy, jewelry, the New New) (, , )

After a well-deserved month off after the holiday rush, I’ll be doing my first sale in 2009 this Saturday the 7th at the Secondary School for Research’s Valentine’s Craft Fair in Park Slope. There will be craft and flea market vendors (including several of my fellow New New York Etsy Street Team peeps!) and a bake sale – and hey, it’s supposed to get up to 50 degrees outside this weekend, so if you’re in the NYC area, come on by!

Crab dip + dumplings = delicious

January 6, 2009 at 9:41 pm (eating) (, , , , )

So this is following up on the subject, of, well . . . nothing in particular, but I had to share a new guilty pleasure food that I discovered tonight at a fab restaurant in my neighborhood that I’ve walked by a million times in the past few months (it’s a little non-descript looking). It’s called Zemi, and it’s right here in my Chelsea hood. Here’s a little write-up by Time Out NY: http://www.timeout.com/newyork/restaurants/chelsea/21071/zemi

I finally went tonight with a group of friends and discovered a food that I’m afraid will be my diet nemesis for 2009: crab rangoon. Now, I’ve had crab rangoon before, but these little temptations are in a class of their own: like tiny molten crab dip dumplings, with a salty and tangy soy dipping sauce. Completely delightful. I feel the same way about them as the first time I ever tried Artichoke Basille’s crab pizza slice: more than a little obsessed. Speaking of Artichoke Basille’s, if you’re in NYC, run, don’t walk to get a slice. The line is totally worth the payoff.
